Mu Koh Similan National Park is a cluster of granite islands in the middle of Andaman Sea, located around 1.30 hour off the shore of Khao Lak. The name Similan means 9 islands in Malay language. It is one of the most beautiful marine national parks in Thailand renowned for its beautiful scenery, both onshore and underwater. Visitors will experience a great time on the beach as well as a memorable snorkelling experience. The islands have beautiful golden sand beaches, pristine forest, iconic rocks, as well as hill and cliff that stand 244 metres over the sea level. Off the shore, Similan Islands offer pristine coral reefs and colourful fishes, one of the most reserved in the area.
Koh Similan (Koh Paed or Eighth Island) is the largest island of the Similan cluster. It has beautiful sandy bay called Ao Kuek where you can enjoy swimming or sunbathing, and just right to the bay locates a rocky hill with iconic Sail Shaped Rock on the top. You can hike a short trail up to the peak where you will see stunning 360-degree panorama of the bay and surrounding islands.
