MORE FROM CCW’S ENVIRONMENTAL ACTION GROUP
The United Church of Christ nationally will undertake an initiative, called “4/1 Earth” (pronounced: For one Earth; visit www.macucc.org/events/detail/1104) This program will begin the day after Easter, April 1, and run six weeks until Pentecost, May 19. All churches will be asked to do 3 things:
1. Cleanup(1millionhoursofEarthcare work undertaken),
2. Green up (100 thousand trees planted), and
3. Shout out (100 thousand environmental advocacy letters written).
Regionally, the New England Regional Environmental Ministries will be sponsoring a Climate Revival on April 27. Visit www.macucc.org/events/detail/1104 for more details. This event will be held on Copley Square in Boston and will start and end with services at the Old South UCC and Trinity Episcopal Churches. CCW will organize a table where advocacy letters can be written to our members of congress and to the President concerning climate change issues. If you would like to be involved, please call the church office and we will find you a job. It should be a very exciting day!
